Did you know there are 13 times more webpages on the internet about German authors than there are Arabic ones? This makes finding content about Arab authors and books online a challenge.
The Emirates Literature Foundation, in collaboration with The Nation Brand, UAE, and Wikipedia, is determined to change this. By recruiting volunteers to become trained Wikipedia editors the Kateb Maktub initiative seeks to multiply the number of pages about Arab authors by at least 10, further bringing Arabic literature into the global spotlight.
Help gather data, create Wikipedia pages, and translate Arabic or English content so more people can access it.
