Biography

Ahmed Saadawiis an Iraqi novelist, poet, screenwriter and documentary film maker. He worked in several local newspapers, magazines and press institutions and worked as a BBC correspondent in Baghdad from 2005 to 2007.

He currently works in the production and writing of documentaries, television programmes and scriptwriting. He worked as a correspondent for the Berlin-based German agency MICT. He publishes in Assabah Newspaper, New Sabah, Almada Newspaper, and weekly magazines such as Al Shabaka and El-Tawassol, all of which are published in Baghdad.

He won the first prize at the Iraqi Press Festival reportage in 2004, and his most prominent feature work is Frankenstein in Baghdad, which was released in 2013 and translated into 32 languages, including English, Chinese, French and Korean, and which will be filmed.
